Bark Central was established in 2004 by Jackie. It was her dream and passion to work with animals doing something she loved. After Jackie wanted to spend more time with her family Jackie decided to retire and  to sell her business. Amanda worked with Jackie for a year as a dog groomer where they build a strong relationship. Jackie decided to sell her business to Amanda in 2012.

Amanda has worked in the pet industry for more than 20 years and managed a large facility at at the age of 20 years old. Her first job was working at a dog grooming salon, where she bathed dogs, cleaned kennels, and swept floors.

In high school, she worked for a large facility where she worked her way up to head groomer and kennel manager. After working there for ten years, gaining experience, she knew she wanted to open her own doggie daycare and grooming facility.

​

While she still worked at the facility, she also attended Pierce College and achieved her associates degree in small business management along with achieving certificates in customer service, entrepreneurship, and advertisement.

 

After school, she worked in the commercial pet industry, Petco,  for seven years to learn how corporations operated.

When she was ready to peruse her goal of owning my own business, she started working at Bark Central. During the short time span of one year, she bonded with the owner who then sold Amanda the business.

 

She has since made Bark Central grow from averaging ten dogs a day with one
employee to averaging forty dogs a day with more then ten employees. Today, Amanda and her time strive to grow Bark Central always making improvements to better grow the business.
