Bark Central was established in 2004 by Jackie, driven by her passion and dedication to working with animals. It was her dream to pursue a career in pet care, which she wholeheartedly pursued. After deciding to spend more quality time with her family, Jackie chose to retire and sell the business. During her transition, Amanda worked alongside Jackie for one year as a dog groomer, during which they developed a strong professional relationship. In 2012, Jackie entrusted Amanda with the ownership of Bark Central.

Amanda brings over 25 years of experience in the pet industry. Her career began at the age of 20, when she managed a large pet care facility. Her initial role was at a dog grooming salon, where she performed tasks such as bathing dogs, cleaning kennels, and maintaining cleanliness.

During high school, Amanda advanced her career by working at a prominent pet facility, where she steadily progressed to become the head groomer and kennel manager. After a decade of gaining valuable experience, she decided to pursue her entrepreneurial ambitions by opening her own dog daycare and grooming business.

While working at the facility, Amanda furthered her education by attending Pierce College, earning an associate’s degree in Small Business Management. She also obtained certifications in Customer Service, Entrepreneurship, and Advertising to enhance her skills.

Following her education, Amanda spent seven years working in the commercial pet industry at Petco, gaining insight into corporate operations and business management.

When she was ready to achieve her goal of owning a successful business, Amanda joined Bark Central. Over the course of just one year, she established a strong bond with Jackie, leading to Jackie selling the business to her.

​

Under Amanda’s leadership, Bark Central has grown significantly—from an average of ten dogs daily with a single employee to serving approximately forty dogs per day with a team of more than ten staff members. Amanda and her team are dedicated to continual growth and ongoing improvements, ensuring Bark Central remains a premier dog care facility.
